A report from the winter 2025 HESG conference (Bristol)

January 2025 marked my first attendance at the UK Health Economics Study Group. It’s an unusual conference that (I don’t think) exists outside of the Health Economics world. The format is as follows, an author submits a paper - the guidance states that work in progress is encouraged. The organisers ask for volunteers from attendees to act as discussants and chairs for each paper. Discussants are responsible for providing a summary of the author’s paper, providing critique, and facilitating discussion from the attendees. I have attended something similar in Alberta, Canada
